Solo Project
Software: Adobe XD (Illustrations), Mixcraft 8/Clipchamp (Video editing)
I had worked on this solo project in 2023 as supplement to my freshman game created back in 2020. There are 3 main goals for this project: to create a brand style guide, a packaging design that contain physical game merchandise, as well as a short motion graphics advertisement to promote the game.
My role: UIUX / Product Designer, Marketer
The purpose of creating a style guide was to establish a brand identity for the game. This was done by listing the 5 key areas of branding, redesigning the game logo in vector graphics, selecting appropriate color scheme, fonts, and visual elements that work together to solidify the game's branding.
Moving on to the packaging design, the objective was to prototype a physical product that carry the game's identity. I started with designing the box packaging, which was updated to be taller in the final product to contain the all the merchandise I had planned for. Various merchandise which match the game's theme were later carefully curated for the final physical product.
Lastly, my final job was to create a short advertisement for the game. I had designed it to display key elements such as the game's mood & setting, main characters, as well as what players can expect to do in the game. This was done to send the game's message across to viewers in a short but complete manner.
Key Takeaways
Consistency is important in creating brand identity, which I had learnt to incorporate in different areas of a product in this project. It is also crucial to identify key elements in the product and utilize them as easy identifiers for consumers.
Flavors of Life: Product Style Guide

Flavors of Life: Physical game box (Plush, Cards, Dices, Fishing rod and Lures)

The physical box packaging and merchandise feature objects and artwork that can be found in the game. This helps to establish consistency between the physical product and the game, which reinforces its branding.
